Joikbattle

Joikebattle is a competition inspired by rap battles, which became popular in the 1980s. In the competition, participants will joik against each other one-on-one until a winner is chosen. Participants will joik both without music and with musicians accompanying them.

Joikebattle has previously been held at the festivals Márkomeannu, Raasten Rastah, and Ubmejen Biejvieh. The first competition was organized by the Samisk Påskemarked in 2024, where Mathis Eira claimed victory. This year, he will be the host for the joikebattle.

The first prize is 5000 Norwegian kroner, along with, of course, honor and glory! If you want to join, you can register via the form in the link by providing your name, age, email, and phone number.
