Sámi musicfestival is the organizer for Sámi Grand Prix and collaborates with NRK, SVT and Yle for the yearly TV broadcast.

The Sámi Music Festival Foundation (Stiftelsen Samisk Musikkfestival i Kautokeino) was established in the year 2000. The founding members were the Kautokeino Sámi Association (Sámiid Searvi), Kautokeino Municipality, and Beaivváš Sámi National Theatre. Kautokeino Sámi Association (sámiid searvi) appoints four representatives and Kautokeino Municipality appoints two representatives.
